A Big Shout-out to Hong Kong Design Institute and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee) for the provision of competition venues and their immense support to the Competitions; judges and volunteers for their unfailing dedication to OM; school principals, teachers and OMers for their active participation and months of hard work. The two OM days passed without a hitch due to the sublime efforts of all creative individuals involved!

6 teams representing Hong Kong Flew to the United States for the 2012 World Finals held at lowa State University to compete with 815 teams from 33 states and 15 countries in late May. We are proud that our Hong Kong Teams performed terrifically this year and marked the best records Hong Kong’s participation ever! Hong Kong teams have also won the Top Ten Best Banner Award in the Float and Banner Parade! This year’s results are certainly encouraging!
A renowned education event, the 14th Hong Kong Odyssey of the Mind Local Competition had come in a successful ending at The Hong Kong Institution of Education. The programme encourages young people to explore and apply their creativity and had already attracted over 30,000 students to take part. “Think out of the box”, “Why Not?” these are the main creative elements that every student would never forget when overcome the challenges in the competition. Let’s have a review on the marvelous performance of the students over the past year!
The 13th Hong Kong Odyssey of the Mind Competition was successfully completed on 29 March 2009. In the two-day event, a total of 98 teams from 88 primary schools, secondary schools and youth centres enrolled to compete in creativity. We were grateful to the continuous support from The Hong Kong Institute of Education on providing competition venues. At the competition, each team members demonstrated their solutions to the Long-term Problem which they had prepared for more than 3 months, and also their brainpower when tackling the Spontaneous Problems.
Stepping into its 12th year, the 2008 Hong Kong Odyssey of the Mind Competition was launched on 29 March. A total of 112 teams from 93 primary and secondary schools and youth centres enrolled to compete with unlimited creativity. Thanks to the venues and manpower support from the City University of Hong Kong, the competition was successfully held when each team tried their very best to show their marvelous creativity. Apart from demonstrating their solutions to the Long-term Problem, they also tackled the Spontaneous Problem.
Several new features were introduced in the 2007 Hong Kong Odyssey of the Mind Programme. Apart from the competitions, kindergarten students were invited to show how creative they could be in a primary problem performance.
We would like to thank all the teams for their great performance and all teachers and parents for their unlimited support.
The well known annual creative education event, the Hong Kong Odyssey of the Mind Competitions, was held on 2 and 3 April 2005 at The Hong Kong Institute of Education.
The captioned Competitions were successfully completed on 20 and 21 March 2004 at The Hong Kong Institute of Education with over a thousand of guests, principals, teachers, parents and students present.
